HOUMade is an ambitious venture to promote the Houston region’s growing Maker Economy and its diverse class of creative entrepreneurs who are leading a renaissance in locally crafted goods that are available from markets down the street to anywhere in the world.

Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the world and possesses a wealth of creative talent that draws inspiration across its tapestry of cultures and traditions. This talent can be a source of economic resilience and can contribute to more thriving communities by:

A DIVERSE LOCAL ECONOMY that is able to withstand current & future socio-economic fluctuations.

SUPPORT SYSTEM
HOUMade is an initiative of the West Houston Institute, Houston Community College’s center for innovation. WHI provides cutting edge programming and facilities, including a 10,000 square foot makerspace, IDEAStudio, that connects the campus and community to address real-world challenges through creative problem-solving and emerging technologies.
